Dear Friends,
This weekend is ROOTS Doncaster and it would be great if you could find time to pray for ROOTS on Friday (set up) Saturday and Sunday.
The venue: Pray the set up will go smoothly and there will be no issues with heating/lighting/space allocation/sound etc.
Pray that the venue will become a house of prayer and worship for the conference.
The delegates: Pray for safe travelling and that everyone will come with a sense of expectancy and want to hear what God is saying.
The speakers: Pray that every speaker/leader will be blessed and protected. That the words they speak will be clearly heard and well received.
The organisers: Pray that all the plans for the weekend will come together and be blessed and that everyone will have enough physical and spiritual energy for the weekend.
The Teams: Youth team. KIDS team. Prayer team. Exhibition team. Adult venue team. Stewards team.
Pray that everyone will be protected and energised and able to focus on their role. Pray there will be a spirit of togetherness and team.

24/7 Prayer
Nottingham Arnold corps request prayer for their 24/7 prayer event commencing at 8.00pm Sunday 12th May to 9.00am 19th May which is Pentecost Sunday.  The week is called  ‘Blaze 24/7’ and the sign up sheet is  already encouraging. The corps have faith that every hour will be filled with people in the Prayer room.
This prayer week will launch the Thursday WWPM from 7.30am till 9.00am and although some have been part of this from the beginning it will be opened up to everyone.

Have a great weekend and if you are at ROOTS please come and say hello to us on the Prayer Network stand in the exhibition area and in the Prayer venue. Our new Prayer Matters and the prayer resource Prophetic Prayer will be available. Please note that the mail out of Prophetic Prayer will follow ROOTS.

Blessings

Jill

Dear Friends,

As I've been thinking of that phrase Happy New Year the word Happy has caught my attention. I do wish you a happy year and pray you will know abundant happiness in the Lord. Whatever happens during 2013 may the joy of the Lord be your strength.

Every year holds a circle of the same events and our rhythm of prayer continues as we bring to the Lord all who will share in Commitment Sunday (a day to celebrate God's faithfulness to us as well as our commitment to Him) and the Self Denial Appeal, when we have the opportunity to give financially to the work of The Salvation Army overseas. In the weeks leading up to Easter we share in the season of Lent and so the year begins its cycle. God gives to us and we give back to God then He gives us more and more. Prayer is similar, we give of ourselves in prayer and receive more than we imagine in terms of peace, strength and grace.

Two recent messages speak of what has happened in 2012 and what will happen in 2013.

During 2012 Portsmouth Citadel commenced a regular Thursday '10 minutes with God' prayer time. The group meet at 11am, a little later than the General requested (no problem) but now have a regular group of 15 people. These are a combination of staff from the Haven community centre and elderly ladies who are gathering in advance of the weekly lunch club. The prayer meeting follows a simple pattern but has developed into a real focus of sharing.
Margate corps would very much appreciate  prayers for a Prayer Seminar entitled  'Deeper into God'  to be held on January 12th 2013.   It will be led by the corps with a visiting Guest Speaker from another church to speak on one aspect of the Seminar.  What a great way to start the year.
I praise God for your faithfulness in prayer and pray He will continue to bless you as you spend time weaving passionate, effective prayer through the fabric of The Salvation Army during 2013.

Blessings
